Attach the VacuLUX HVE adapter to your existing HVE valve for optimal evacuation and aerosol reduction using your Zyris Isolite or Dryshield mouthpieces.
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is the VacuLUX HVE Adapter?
The VacuLUX HVE Adapter was designed to adapt your current HVE valves for use with Dryshield or Zyris (Isolite) silicone mouthpieces. Our adapter is a one-piece, aluminum adapter engineered to simplify other complicated high-performance isolation systems. There is no complicated installation of equipment needed, simply plug in your adapter at any chair.
Can the adapter be used without the light?
The VacuLUX HVE Adapter can be used with or without our HyperLUX light engine. The internal light port in the VacuLUX is sealed, so suction is not effected if the light engine is not used. All of our adapters are equipped to work with or without the light engine, so you can upgrade to light at any time.
How do I sterilize the adapter?
Standard protocol calls for weekly autoclaving of your HVE adapters. However, our product can withstand daily autoclaving if you're looking to increase your protocols as it is made of aluminum rather than plastic and won't degrade over time. Between patients, run the adapter with a non-chorisive pH-nuetral enzymatic cleaning solution and perform a surface disinfection with a disinfectant wipe, just as you would your HVE valves.
What is the Whisper Lite Kit?
The Whisper Light Kit is an optional accessory for the VacuLUX adapter. It reduces weight and sound for your patient by allowing you to connect your VacuLUX adapter directly to the blue hose, moving the HVE Valve away from their mouth. The opposite end of the Whisper Light Kit, the stainless steel tube, then connects to your HVE valve which can remain docked at your work station.
What is high-performance isolation?
High-performance isolation systems allow you increased productivity and consistent results by removing a lot of the variables in your dental procedures. Using a high-performance isolation mouthpiece, our VacuLUX HVE Adapter and HyperLUX light engine meets many needs at once: mouth prop, tongue guard, cheek retractor, high-volume evacuation, aerosol reduction and illumination.
How much do high-performance isolation systems help with aerosol reduction?
Studies have shown that aerosols and spatter can be reduced by up to 90% with proper High Volume Evacuation. The key to proper High Volume Evacuation is both ideal placement and continuous suction throughout your procedures. Surrounding your work area with suction channels and continuously running suction with high-performance isolation mouthpieces provides proper use of HVE for significant reduction of aerosols.
